About CC Beekman: He came West from New York in search of gold in Yreka and became an Express Agent, traveling periodically to Jacksonville, where he ultimately was hired by Wells Fargo Bank. Later, he opened his own bank, which closed in May 1915 after his death and remains today as it was left.
